You have to be capable of using tools in Photoshop such as: liquefy (to fix distortions), levels, color balances, the clone stamp tool (Very important** and used all the time), patterns, etc.
You must be fully proficient in Photoshop and Illustrator so you can work quickly. Often you will use both tools (creating a shape + text in illustrator, and then moving a raster from photoshop onto this design). You need to know how to use both programs simultaneously.
If you come across a design that you need to spend extra time on because you don't know exactly how to do it - learning how to do it will be "off the clock." Like if you need to look up tutorials or fiddle with tools for a long time. We aren't paying for your education. However, if you do come across a design you don't know how to do quickly, you can just forward it to our house designer and they will take care of it.
This job starts at $15 an hour. We can hire you through hubstaff instead of upwork to avoid the fees. If you are very fast, it is possible for you to earn a higher wage. The amount you are paid depends on the amount a customer is willing to pay. You will start at $15 and we will review your performance after 8 hours of work and consider a raise from there.
Anything that will take you less than 8 minutes is free to the customer. However, if they ask for more simple changes after that you will charge them $4.
You can calculate how much to charge a customer by estimating the amount of time a design will take to make. We need to have you cover your hourly wages. So, if a design will take you a half hour to make, you will charge $10 (this is $15 / 2 = $7.5 but add the other $2.5 to cover anytime communicating with the customer).
Less than 8 minutes: Free
10 minutes: $4
20 minutes: $8
30 minutes: $10
40 minutes: $12
50 minutes: $15
60 minutes: $18
These are estimates and you can add or subtract a couple of dollars if you are in between (like 25 minutes, you could do $9). If a design takes an hour and a half, you would just add $10 + $18 so the price would be $28. This is just to cover your wages for creating designs and answering emails. If the customer requests further changes that take longer than 8 minutes, you will charge them additional fees.

For example: If you can do a design that would take another designer 10 minutes in 5 minutes, we can pay you higher. This is because the customer would still be pay the affordable fee of $4 - but you would have the time to do more designs per hour. Another option is for you to charge the customer whatever you want and then you receive all the graphic design income at the end of the week (-10%). This will be limited because we need to keep the cost of graphic design affordable for our customers. This is less secure than an hourly wage but gives you the potential to earn more if you work hard.
There are also bonuses for large orders. We want you to take your time with these customers and make their designs perfectly. We also want you to prioritize responding to them and getting their designs done as quickly as possible. If a large order required a design change that took 10 minutes or less the bonus will not apply.

$400 Order - $35 Bonus
$500 Order - $40 Bonus
$600+ - $45 Bonus
